TEC MTCTE Certification
TEC MTCTE Certification is a mandatory approval for telecom and communication equipment sold, imported, or used in India. It is regulated by the Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India.
Under the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE) scheme, telecom products must be tested and certified before they can be legally introduced into the Indian market. The scheme covers a wide range of telecom and networking products, including routers, switches, IP phones, GPON equipment, mobile base stations, and many other telecom devices.
As part of the certification process, the product is tested at a TEC-designated laboratory to verify that it meets the required technical, safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and security standards. After successful testing and document verification, TEC issues the MTCTE Certificate, allowing the product to be legally imported, sold, and used in India.
Obtaining TEC MTCTE Certification helps manufacturers and importers comply with Indian telecom regulations, avoid customs and market-entry issues, improve product credibility, and ensure their equipment meets India's quality and safety requirements.
