EPR Registration for E-Waste

You didn’t come this far to stop

EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) Registration is a mandatory approval for manufacturers, importers, and brand owners (PIBOs) of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in India. It is issued by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).

The purpose of EPR Registration is to ensure that electronic products are collected, recycled, and disposed of responsibly after they reach the end of their life. Under India's E-Waste Management Rules, businesses that manufacture or import electronic products are responsible for managing the e-waste generated from their products in an environmentally friendly manner.

To obtain an EPR Certificate, manufacturers and importers must prepare an EPR plan, estimate the quantity of e-waste their products will generate, and partner with a CPCB-authorized recycler for collection and recycling. After reviewing the application and required documents, CPCB grants the EPR Registration.

Benefits of EPR Registration

  • Comply with India's E-Waste Management Rules and environmental regulations.

  • Legally manufacture, import, and sell electrical and electronic products in India.

  • Demonstrate your commitment to environmental sustainability.

  • Improve your brand reputation and build customer trust.

  • Reduce the environmental impact of electronic waste through responsible recycling and disposal.

  • Avoid penalties and regulatory issues due to non-compliance.

Whether you are a manufacturer, importer, or brand owner, EPR Registration helps you meet legal requirements while contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
